Bying An e-Book
All Kinds of Links
Buying an e-Book
Allison has five e-books and her next book,  Heal My Hurting Heart will also appear first as an e-book.

So - - what is it?

An e-book is an electronic book read from an electronic device, an e-reader.

So what is an e-reader?

It is an electronic device which allows you to read digital media.  There are many different forms available.
An e-reader.  There are two new 'kids' on the block.  Sony makes one and Amazon.com
                recently introduced the 'Kindle'.
                A PDA (personal digital assisstant)
                Blackberry
                most cell phones

Why on earth would you want to read from a reader?

There are all kinds of valid reasons.

1.  Convenience
A PDA is small yet you can download any number of books to it, depending on the memory of your device.
No need to carry a suitcase of books on vacation.
It's small, easy to handle, weighs next to nothing, and fits in a purse or pocket.
Some screens are backlit, making reading easy.  Others have the appearance of a page of paper.
You can control the size of the font (the size of the print) which is terrific if your vision is not as good as it once was.

2.  Cost
After the initial cost of a PDA or reading device, the books are inexpensive.
No money spent to drive to the store, look for a parking place, stand around waiting for help, or waiting to pay the cashier.
Most authentic e-publishers have secure sites that except credit and debit cards.

3.  Simplicity
You sit at the computer, view reviews of the books, read excerpts, select you book, order, pay, download and then read.
In minutes. (In some cases you can print your own copy, but then you don't save on paper, ink, or time.

4.  Other benefits
Environmentally, e-books make sense.  You save trees (paper), gas and time.
The quality of the fiction in the e-book market is as good or even better than the major publishers.
Even the major publishers, Avon, Harleqin, Kensington, have gone to e-publishing.
All genres are available from royalty paying publisher.

One drawback - you must have access to the internet.  However, is you do, you can go to an e-book publisher, order your books, pay for your choices, download and read.  What could be simplier?
